This workshop explored the research-led creative process behind the queer, multispecies and cyborg fabulation of the character "Sample 88", as part of the "Arutaua" forest-world. Through visual and literary elements, "Arutaua" creates narratives of resistance against the logics of colonial, cisheteronormative, and environmental exploitation. This workshop included the following activities:
> An interactive printmaking experience using a printed map and stamps to fabulate queer becomings;
> An exclusive screening of the in-progress short film "Arutaua".
> A short seminar exploring the practice-based research behind the creation of "Arutaua", a science-fiction book-object.
This event explored how queer, multispecies, cyborg speculative fabulation (both visual and literary) can generate non-apocalyptic territories and temporalities, meaning spaces where multiple [co]existences can generate different sensitive engagements amidst climate change and catastrophes.

Este workshop explorou a pesquisa artística por trás da fabulação do queer, ciborgue e multiespécie do personagem "Amostra 88", parte do mundo-floresta chamado "Arutaua". Por meio de elementos literários e visuais, "Arutaua" cria narrativas de resistência contra lógicas coloniais, cisheteronormativas e de exploração ambiental. O workshop incluiu as seguintes atividades:
> Uma experiência interativa de carimbar um dos mapas de Arutaua para fabular devires queer.
> Uma exibição exclusiva do filme em progresso "Arutaua".
> Um seminário explorando a pesquisa artística por trás de "Arutaua", um livro-objeto de ficção científica.
O evento explorou como fabulações queer, multiespécie e ciborgue (visuais e literárias) podem gerar territorialidades e temporalidades não apocalípticas, ou seja, espaços em que múltiplas [co]exietências podem gerar diferentes engajamentos sensíveis em meio às catástrofes e mudanças climáticas.

Breno is an artist, designer, art educator and researcher based in Belém do Pará, in the northern region of Brazil. He is currently a practice-based PhD candidate in Arts and holds a Master’s degree in Arts (2017) from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA).
